Hey busy mamas or those of you who love your animals, travels, hobbies, life, and you want to document it but don’t know how, or where to start, or the idea of scrapbooking just makes your stomach turn. I have found one of the best ways to scrapbook and it’s so simple! For reals, simple. And in case you need proof, I scrapbooked our Mancub’s first year while starting and running a business, learning how to be a mom, being a photographer, and catching up on all seasons of How I Met Your Mother.

Needless to say, it was a busy year, and I scrapbooked the heck out of the 1st year of our sweet baby boy’s life.

So, how to scrapbook without breaking the bank, buying needless stickers, and making sure it’s super cute. Just follow this easy recipe for instant creativity.

  1. Download the Shutterfly App. It’s free and really easy to navigate. The Shutterfly App allows you to purchase prints for FREE and all you do is pay shipping. Did you catch that? FREE! You can link your Instagram, Photos from your phone, and more so the ability to grab all your favorites is easy and it takes no time at all.
  2. Grab a simple photo album with blank pages. Don’t worry about all the different color pages with different themes. We are trying to make this simple. I don’t want you to get stuck in the time warp hole that is the scrapbooking aisle. Just grab a pretty cover and blank pages. My favorites are the Storyline Albums by Heidi Swap. They are hands down the prettiest/most unique photo albums I have found. I have my favorite picks below at the bottom.
  3. Sort through you photos and get to scrapbooking. This is where I make it super easy on myself. I grab a black pen and simply just write. The Storyline Albums also have cute, simple stickers that go with whatever album you choose, so again, you don’t have to loose your mind and your wallet in the sticker aisle.

I choose a fun adventure themed album for Mancub’s first year since it has been MY biggest adventure to date, but I think he is having the time of his life… but TBD.

To again, make this super easy, I didn’t worry about making things perfect. I wrote what I remembered and what was special. I kept it simple. I didn’t worry about making it look amazing. I just wanted an album that our little one could go through when he was older and enjoy the memories.

My favorite part of this album was the back page, where I could write down the big moments. And guess what… I didn’t remember these dates, but Instagram did! And if you don’t have a page like this, it would be super easy to make.

I want you to know, that I did not accomplish this in one sitting, or even a month… or 6. But that is the beauty of this, I did it when I could and again… made it super simple. No pressure, and a lot of How I Met Your Mother.

Here are my favorites if you need some help deciding, and you can find most of these at Michaels… don’t forget that 40% coupon!

Enjoy scrapbooking your memories!!!

Love you all, Em

I love this idea! I used to do creative memories and it was so time consuming and expensive. Cullen never got albums. Oops. Poor guy. But your simple idea looks more fun. I may steal it.
