Saturday Adventure in Pictures

August 6, 2013

We live in a really cool neighborhood in DC called Adams Morgan. It’s rich in history, culture, art and most of all food! You can find anything from old books, great drinks, records to vintage clothes. You can eat breakfast, brunch, lunch, mid afternoon snack, happy hour, dinner, dessert and late night drinks all on the same street or even in the same restaurant. We haven’t touched the surface of all the great places to eat and drink in our neighborhood.

This past Saturday we decided to venture down 18th Street before the rain came and enjoy our neighborhood. We ate at a new place that makes amazing empanadas and stopped into our favorite record store, Crooked Beat, for some new music. Come along and enjoy our neighborhood, see our Saturday Adventures in pictures.

I’m so jealous. Lakewood is slowly starting to come around, especially now that the LightRail has opened, but it is nothing as cute as this. So glad you are enjoying it!

O I heard the Light Rail was up! I bet that makes things easier. I grew up near Lakewood, where are you guys living there?

My aunt lives in adams morgan too. I love visiting her and walking the streets. In fact, your picture with the washington monument, if you make a right, right on that street that is in the front of the picture she lives down there. The brown building towards the back of the picture with the rooftop bar, that is called Jack Rose Dining Saloon. If you have not been, you must try it out! My aunt grew up with the owner and raves about the food and of course all the whiskey you could imagine!

Leanne, how fun! I love that area down at the bottom of 18th street. We live at the top so we can’t see the Monument but I so wish we could! We have been meaning to go there! We will make it a top priority! Thank you so much for stopping by and the great tip!
