kitchen design plan

September 24, 2013

Since Andy and I are moving home in a few weeks, you can read more about that here, I have some serious house dreams in my head. Seriously. I have been dreaming about DIY-ing, building, painting and so on. If you follow me on Pinterest, you may have seen an influx in home design.Mostly featuring bright, white kitchens. I’m sorry, I’m not sorry. I will not apologize for the love I have in my heart for white cabinets. And if it’s wrong, I don’t want to be right!

I have whipped up a kitchen design plan so that when we get back into our house, I won’t make the same mistakes I made last time, like a turquoise accent wall. It was so bright and bad that someone actually thought it was primer instead of the actually paint. We live and learn… and then paint over it.

So here is the plan of action!

I love the rustic chic look with vintage inspired chairs, lighting and storage with modern marble tile and dark flooring. I am even more excited to tackle our current countertops and use a concrete overlay. Ah! I am so excited. I can’t stop pinning and I can’t tell you how my heart feels when I see a new Lowes commercial.

To see what we are looking at, here is what our kitchen looks like… cookie cutter at it’s finest.

Stay tuned for the afters!!

Love and Hope, Em

Me too!! We’ve been living out of boxes for three months waiting to buy a house and all I can think about is painting and decorating! It’s killing me! Fyi Hobby Lobby is dangerous/awesome!

Haha, Kelly! Yes, I get in so much trouble in Hobby Lobby. If you ever need help with design plans, let me know!

I love your design plan! I think the dark flooring contrasting with the white cabinets & backsplash and concrete countertops is my favorite part! I just realized I wasn’t following you on Pinterest! Had to fix that 😉
Good luck with packing & the big move!

I’m excited to follow along! I pinned (and still do) so. many. ideas. before we moved into our new home in 2011. Now it’s a matter of finding time and budgeting funds to get them done! (Hence why my home looks like we moved in a few months ago, instead of nearly 2 years ago! haha!).
