Boo and Scout Store Ideas
I absolutely love snow. After living on the East Coast for three years, the mere mention of snow gets me so excited!
I’m not a huge fan of the cold but when there is a fresh layer of snow, and all you have to do that is day is play, then there is no reason why you can’t bundle up and head out for adventure.
This past weekend, for Thanksgiving, Andy and I headed up to my mom and dad’s in the beautiful Rocky Mountains. We packed up all our snow gear, our boards, boots, and passes and dreamed of fresh powder on the mountains. While we didn’t have fresh snow, we did have a blast riding the mountains we so dearly love.
Every season, I get just as excited for the gear that goes along with a new season of snowboarding. Check out some of my favorites here, especially those amazing boots. Yes, please!
And if you need some heavenly mountain inspiration, here you go, featuring my dad!
Let it snow!
Where do you like to ski/board?
Ah. Colorado. How I have missed you. The frost on the windows, the chill in the air, seeing my breath, that first cup of hot coffee and bundling up. It’s time to bunker down and get ready for that snow. Let’s see if I am this happy in a few weeks… because with all these comes blizzards, freezing car seats, brown color everywhere… but until then. My favorite thing about November. Sweater Weather.
I love big chunky sweaters, patterns and bows. I’m sorry, I can’t get away from them.
Here are some of my favorites for this season. Here’s to getting warm!
Dress Me Up: The Classic White Shirt
I love taking a piece of clothing and creating several outfits around it. I makes it easier to have a multi-dimensional wardrobe and when your a girl on the go… and on a budget, it makes life so much easier!
One of the best staples to have in any wardrobe is the classic white shirt. White goes with everything and anything! It can be the most versatile piece of clothing you have. It doesn’t have to be plain. In fact, I like all my shirts to have just a little something special to them.
I have recently found the perfect white shirt. While walking through Target, I happened upon the new designer showcase by Phillip Lim. I had never heard of him but I love Target and can’t get enough of their darling clothes. When I saw this white shirt with crystal beading, I just knew we were meant for each other.
I originally bought the shirt for a rehearsal dinner that we will be going to, but I have put together 3 other different looks from work to play so I can wear it more than once. If you hurry, this shirt is still on sale! It’s worth it. It’s so super cute.
One of the things I absolutely love about Fall is the switch of shoes on your feet. Away with sandals, wedges, espadrilles and bare feet and in with boots, flats, tennies and super cute loafers! If there is one thing you should know about me, it is that I love shoes!
But I have a slight problem. I get hung up on the same kind of shoe. When it comes to beige and bows, I am like a moth to a flame! I just can’t look away. It is a sickness, it’s deep and it’s real. If you were to go through my closet and begin to count the number of beige/tan shoes and shoes with bows, you would just shake your head and lead my intervention…
And just in case you don’t believe me, some physical evidence.
1. Cambria by Sole Society – My Favorite of the bunch. So sweet and perfect for a girls night or a day in the office.
2. Clue by Seychelles – O my word! These are beige but I just don’t care… and I might already have them.
3. Evedon by Joules – The Brits really knew what to do when making a wellie/rain boot.
4. Classic White Chuck Taylors – Classic. They go with anything. Great for game day or a pumpkin picking.
5. Rolly by Rachel Roy – O man. Love this crazy print.
6. Gold Leather Ankle Boot by Zara – Not Beige but it still goes with everything!
7. Intyce by Steve Madden – A great Fall boot. Dress it up, dress it down, love this boot. And yes, I have it in brown.
8. Suede Ballerina with a Bow – Ok. This may have a bow, but the color is just beautiful.
9. Sunflower Yellow Suede Flats – These are my second favorite and the color is perfect for Fall. Plus they are handmade!
What do you think? Any of these going to make it into your Fall wardrobe? If you have a favorite shoe please do pass it a long… just not beige, bows are ok!
Love and Hope, Em
There is something special about handmade. Not just for the artist but for the consumer as well. You know the item you have isn’t just special because you love it but because it was created by someone so talented. Most times, when you buy handmade you can actually speak and connect with the artist directly and appreciate the product you have.
In my former job, I was immersed in the handmade community and loved every minute of it. I discovered unique and amazing products along with talented artists that create these pieces. As an avid DIY-er and now a handmade shop owner as well, I understand the time and effort behind each item. It is truly magical.
I have decided to share some of my favorite handmade items that I just can’t get enough of. I hope you stop by each of these shops and spend awhile. These artists are extremely talented and well versed in their crafts. I like to think that handmade style makes the world go round. Let’s keep on spinning!
Ele Handmade makes the sweetest shoes and they come all the way from Italy. I love every pair, especially the ones with the tassels.
Fleet Collection dresses are the perfect mix of sweet and whimsical.
I love Zelma Rose Necklaces. Everything about them. I wear mine all the time and constantly get compliments. You should get one too!
I can’t get enough of this artist, Emily Martin and her shop The Black Apple. There is something so beautifully haunting about her work.
These coasters are speaking my language. The colors, shapes and the fact that I can put my drink anywhere with these guys. Love The Coastal.
And finally, these lovely little pillows. Bright, cheerful and straight to the point. Alexandra Ferguson is amazing!
