When ever I walk into Target around this time of year, I am reminded of that scene in You’ve Got Mailwhere Meg Ryan talks about loving the smell of scotch tape and fresh bouquets of pencils. I’m like, “girl, you and me both!”. Even after 5 plus years of no longer needing school/college supplies, I still love the idea of getting all new pens, notebooks, tape, highlighters, planners… o my gosh, I am getting excited just writing about it.
My favorite time of the summer was when we received our school supply list in the mail. Nerd Alert! Well, that time has come and gone but there is always a time for new pens and notepads, so I have put together my favorite Back to “School” necessities for the modern working girl. Sorry, no scotch tape room spray but I think there is a market out there for that…. anyone else agree? Maybe the smell of new books, just a thought.
I love this print and I have one in my little nook of an office. On those days that I need a little extra nudge, just looking at this print gears me up for what I need to do. Guess what, I have one for you and a friend. What? That’s right. I have two to give away.
The print is 8.5 x 11, like the size of computer paper.
Here is what my print looks like:
To enter, just comment below where you would put this print and who you would give the other one too! I will choose a winner at random and announce at the end of the week!
I may be a little late to this party train being that we are in full swing of the summer season but I wanted to make sure that I researched, designed and had plenty of time to make the invitations I was proud to put out. I know that I have a lot to learn still and every body’s style is different but I am very excited to announce that I now am offering wedding invitation sets and have transitioned into digital files for most products in the shop. Which means for you lucky people, you can make and print all the invitations you need without the hassle of shipping. But if you want someone to print them for you… I’m still your main squeeze.
So enough talking… here are the fun new invitation sets and even some fun new cards. Also, I love custom work so if you need something special, I’m just a phone call, email, tweet, FB message, away.
You can find all these invitations and cards in the shop which you can easily access by the lovely shop button on the left side of this page labeled shop. See you over there!

Since I have started my own business I have had an overflow of sweet friends and family who have supported this new adventure. It has been scary, intimidating and I feel like I learn something new everyday. I thought I would share the custom work that my friends and family have entrusted me with. To feel blessed wouldn’t even cover how I feel. And of course, if you need something, I would love to design it for you. Just email me and let’s chat!
Here is some of my favorite custom work that I have done since March. I love how unique each piece is because each person I have designed for has been unique in their own way. This is what I love about design, you get a chance to express someone’s personality!
This was a custom designed print for a friend’s personal training studio! Love that she choose this quote!
Business Cards for a friend’s sister. This girl is one of the funniest girls around. I love that she wanted Asian Persuasion on them. Definitely check out her website at ReneeMytar.com, she has incredible style!
These are a for a joint bridal shower that a friend is throwing in August. I love the idea of bringing a board game or lawn game as a present.
I designed this logo and business card for a friend’s new business. My husband, Andy, said I should just have her pay me in pastries. Agreed!
I’m loving this simple but elegant invitation I got to design for a friend. What makes this invite so special is she was able to come over and see the design process. It was so much fun!
One of my very best friends got married in May and not only was I blessed to be in it, but she let me design her programs too.
And finally my own custom work. I just revamped the blog here and I am trying to combine a blended look between my blog and my stationery work. So far, I’m loving it. I have recently just started drawing my own vectors and have loved the outcome! Here is my new business card.
I have been doing a lot of thinking recently and have decided to add some art prints to my shop. After I made this decision, things quickly got out of hand. Folks, I have a problem. I can not stop and the bad thing is, I don’t want to!
I hope you enjoy these too! Let me know what you think? Are these something you would hang on your wall? If not, why? I’m down for some serious truths people because in the end the only people that matter are you guys.
All 6 are now available in the shop and come in 8.5 x 11 sizes on good quality paper! See you there!
Andy and I are about to head out on a much needed family vacation with my parents and my brother. You can read more about our trip to Rome and the Mediterranean cruise here. In the chaos of packing, last minute shopping, cleaning and trying to get out orders to clients, Flourish and Hope has gone on the back burner. I am so bummed I let that happen because this blog is so important to me and I hope it becomes a source of inspiration to others. But I recognize I can not do it all! One of the things on my “Like a Boss” Work Flow Notepad is to Breathe. Still haven’t checked that one off yet…
I didn’t want to leave you hanging for these next few weeks while we are on our family extravaganza so I thought I would give you a little preview of what is coming to the shop! I have some fun new designs and items that will be making their way to Emilie Marian Designs.
Let me introduce you to the stripe collection and for the first time ever, STICKY NOTES!
This last picture is also of a journal cover, just if it was face down! All can be customizable with whatever saying and font color you would like.
And if you are hosting a bridal shower anytime soon, check these new invites out!
