It’s all about the master bedroom.
Did you hear we bought a house? Check out that post here.
Oh man. With a new house comes so much, and I’m not talking about more space (we are currently living in a 300 square foot room in Andy’s parents basement, see those pics here!). We have so many ideas for this new house. We plan on being in this house for all of eternity and then some. We want this house to really reflect who we are and have a little fun with it. I want to be fearless with our decorating in this house, with more personality!
As you can see below, our master bedroom has gone through some changes. She started out plain jane with our college furniture to hopefully a lady with her style, kinda like Lady Gaga, just with less raw meat.
Let’s go back in time!
So where does that leave us now? We don’t want to get rid of the furniture we have, it’s still quite new and most of the decor pieces we have, we still love, like the mirrors, the lamps and our headboard. I wanted a clean, new look with a modern twist. Enter in the inspiration!
Between the lovely almost midnight blue paint color, cream and mustard yellow, with the unique prints and natural elements, my heart just can’t be still. Oh, sweet mercy.
So here is the master plan:
1. Loving this bed skirt. The perfect match of modern and elegance. // 2. Soft and textured Linen Duvet Cover. A great canvas for fun pillows. // 3. I can’t get enough of this White Faux Bison Skull, totally humane and totally chic. // 4. I can’t… Nope, no words. And also no longer available. So sad. // 5. This pillow is what dreams are made of. // 6. Twig Table Top, love, love. // 7. This print is just so beautiful to me, beautiful and so needed. // 8. I love the old world look of this work lamp. //9. Sweet knobs for our already owned 10. Hemnes Ikea Dresser, a staple of every home!
All for a total of under $500.00! That is what I call a master plan!
What are you inspiration are you loving?
We were so late getting our cards out this year… in fact we still have some sitting waiting for addresses.
I am so embarrassed.
But you know what, it’s ok! The fact that I get up each morning and remember to shower, get dressed, and show up for the day is nothing short a miracle these past few weeks.
We have had such a big year and I am so sorry if I missed getting a card out to you! We “lost” our address book in the move and if we have forgotten you, please know that we didn’t mean to! We love you all so dearly!
But in case you were one of the few we didn’t actually pen a card to, or your card got lost in the mail, or the fact that it is still waiting for a stamp or you just can’t wait till yours come to you, I thought I would share this year’s Christmas-that became our New Years Card!
We have so much to share, make sure you check it out below!
Love you all!

It’s been so long since I have been able to dream and design so I can add fun things to the shop.
But with the date of us being back in our house coming closer, I keep dreaming of the type of art work I want to hang in our house, which spurred on my latest designs.
Come see the fun new prints I have up in the shop and see a sneak peek below!
So long Lisa Frank trapper keeper.
Although, who doesn’t love kitties, rainbows, and unicorns thrown up on a brightly colored binder, but now as a grown up, I want something a little bit more… stylish.
With a new year, comes a new planner and calendar! I almost get as excited for this time of year as much as I get excited for Christmas.
Bring on the planning.
Since starting Flourish and Hope, my design business and going back to work full time here in Colorado, I currently work in HR for an oil company, I find myself getting lost in the days. I need a planner that will help me stay on track for everything I do, even better if it looks like the BA (bad ass) I need it to be, lots of space to write, jot, note take, and of course plan.
I can’t get enough of cute calendars either. I may be the person who hangs one up in every room! I can’t tell you how many times I’m in the bathroom getting ready needing to know what day it is. I’m the person who always keeps asking what day it is even if you just told me 5 mins ago.
I have gathered my favorite planners and calendars for this year. Including my favs…. may you never forget what day it is ever! And if you still have to ask, I’m right there with you!
Here’s to you planning in style this year!
Flourish and Hope and Emilie Marian Designs is combining into one and getting so fancy!
I have been thinking for a while that Flourish and Hope encompasses all that I do, not just this space where I can share and dream, but also the work that I love to do, design.
So much of the two, blog and shop, intertwine, that I felt the two should be as one. So along with that comes a new look.
Fresh, Simple and Clean.
I wanted a look that expressed my love of design while appreciating the beauty of type, expression and the mix of old world and edge.
A little bit of style with some rock and roll.
See the new looks on:
Christmas card season has to be one of my favorite times of year! Not only do I love receiving some good old fashioned snail mail, but I thoroughly enjoying reading about what’s happening in the lives of the people I care about.
Christmas cards are getting to be so lovely and unique, every time I see a new one, I think to myself, “Man, I wish we had done that one!” But I also love writing our yearly newsletter. Andy and I usually have moved within that year, gone on some adventure or added a new pet to the Casseday clan and we want to share about it. Sometimes it can be too much of a hassle to design a card and write a newsletter worthy of someone’s attention.
So from now on, we will be hoping on the Christmas card/newsletter hybrid trend! It’s a lovely mix of color and design from the cards with all the exciting jam packed news from the newsletters. So it’s not just a treat for your news loving brains but for your eyes as well. (Anyone else thinking Chandler’s response about Monica’s braids? A treat for the eyes and the ears!)
Last year, we used a fun template from Bird Design. It was fully customizable from the colors to the wording.
And these are some of my favorites for this year, so if you haven’t done your Christmas newsletter/card yet, check out these fun ones!
And if you want to see what ours looks like this year…. stay tuned :)!
There is just something about handmade that just makes my heart melt.
Especially handmade dresses.
I have been in love with Fleet Collection Dresses for awhile now and have written about them several times. Not only do they make such super sweet dresses but the lovely ladies behind Fleet Collection are also super sweet. Read to the bottom to find out why!
This past weekend, I took my favorite Fleet Collection dress, the Coquette Dress in Mustard, and shot a couple of fall photos with my amazingly talented photographer friend, Cassie Rosch. If you ever need a great photographer, please check her out. She loves to travel as well. She made it so fun to dance in the leaves and play dress up.

This dress is so comfortable and even has pockets! It was made in my dreams…. and I can’t get enough of that beautiful mustard color with the delicate lace accents. This dress is perfect for summer and winter.
I hope you enjoy yours too!
